All right all you Adobe Flex gurus out there – this competition is for you. If you don’t know Flex then this is the perfect time to learn. We’re giving away $1,900 in prizes for the seven best Flex screencasts.
The purpose of the screencasts is to teach people how to use Flex. Your screencast can be as basic as showing the user how to download the software and explaining the interface to them. You could also do a complex tutorial using actionscript and explaining how to build a specific file or even a Flex with ColdFusion tutorial. The sky is the limit.
Once your screencast is done, just email it or the link to it to sitemanager@flashden.net.

I should probably back up. I’m sure you are wondering, “Why on earth FlashDen would be offering $1,900 for tutorials on a product we don’t even sell?” FlashDen will soon be accepting files built in Adobe Flex. This is a much anticipated addition to our existing library that we’re pretty excited about. Right now is the perfect time to build Flex files and get them ready to upload. FlashDen has long been on a quest to become the greatest library of Flash files around. And we’re currently coming up to a big milestone on this path – 5,000 Flash files for sale. As I write this we are sitting at about 4,850 so it won’t be long now!
To celebrate this milestone, we’d like to give one lucky buyer $500 to spend here on FlashDen, after all there’s certainly plenty of files to choose from! To enter our little contest all you have to do is place a comment with a link to your all-time favourite item on FlashDen as well as a FlashDen username for us to credit. At 11:59PM of the day we pass the 5,000 mark I’ll close the entries and we’ll randomly select a winner.
Anyone besides Envato staff and reviewers may enter, and each person can enter only one time. It’s that easy!

FITC Seoul is a one-day flash design event featuring seven of the world’s top designers and developers. Among those scheduled to appear are perennial favorites Joshua Davis and Erik Natkze, creative guru Kyle Cooper (Imaginary Forces), Papervision 3D team member Ralph Hauwert, digital storyteller and creative director Euna Seol (PostVisual.com), and from Adobe Richard Galvan and Marcos Weskamp. Simultaneous translations from English to Korean and Korean to English (for Euna Seol’s presentation) will be provided throughout the event.

Last year one of the FlashDen founders, Collis Ta’eed, spoke at the 2007 webDU conference in Sydney, Australia. The conference was huge, and he left with a slew of new contacts, new information, and extra enthusiasm for his two most favourite subjects – Flash and webdesign! This year promises to be even bigger and better than the last!

I’m sad to announce that we will have to re-run the asset library competition because of… cheating!! 
Some fiend discovered how to buck the voting system and seriously skewed our results. Under these circumstances all we can do is run the competition again. Happily, I have been assured that this time it is foolproof!!
