2009 Looks Pretty Good So Far Huh!

Well, I didn’t expect Collis to make such a huge announcement yesterday, it definitely made me smile! I’m sure a lot of authors are doing a dance as well, taken from all the forum posts and comments I see on this site and all the comments across Envato properties.

This should really make a difference to a lot of people as a 15% increase from the previous base of 25% is a pretty good motivator to add more content to your portfolios. I’m excited about the release of GraphicRiver.net as well.

I remember the early days of FlashDen when I uploaded my one and only file to date, yeah I was such a n00b then :-P , in fact I remember the first Flash gallery that I submitted my files waaay back in 2003 {I think?} was called FlipCup.com. They don’t exist anymore but I do remember that site didn’t have much success getting a customer base. I guess the market, and possibly the tools as well, was just not ready for what we creative folk have to offer today.

With more brick and mortar stores and random mom and pop companies starting up online, the market is just going to get bigger. In fact, this so called “recession” is probably the best time to capitalize on the surge of new capital that is flowing onto the web.

I’m going to see if I can whip up a few Flash files myself and place them on FlashDen.
