New and Improved Categories
FlashDen has grown at an amazing rate over the last year. There are more files to choose from and more buyers than ever before. Unfortunately, due to this growth we’ve outgrown the file categories. Even just one year ago having “Utilities” be a subsection of “Applications and Utilities” was just fine, but now there are more than 1200 files in that section! That’s way too big to browse effectively. Files past page 20 are often ignored. That’s why we’ve made some pretty big changes.
We’ve added several new top-level categories, including Image Viewers, Video Players, and Games. We’ve also added several new sub-level categories including Preloader Packs, Equalizers, and Tooltips. Many other categories have just had their names changed. For example, Flash Cards is now Holiday & E-Cards.
This is really going to help organize the library and make everything easier to find. Happy browsing!

Cool stuff. I also like the category breakdowns in the footer of the landing page. That was a nice touch.
Just skimmed through the new categories and noticed Flex…does that mean we can now submit flex files.

I do miss the “Flash” button as was in top of the previous system. That allowed you to see ALL Flash files in ALL categories giving a really good breakdown of the last accepted files!
This is all fine and great BUT we need separate AS2 and AS3 sections…

Yes, you can upload Flex files. MSFX, we’re working on that, but it’s the weekend so it may take a little time.

I also miss the Flash button, were we could see all the the latest files. Anyway you guys can provide a link for it

. The database has been changed to accomodate for the new categories, and with that it will take a bit of work to get them all displayed together. Collis said there is a meeting on monday to sort this out 
The new FD menu is a far stretch from being better, and the improvements made lack entirely any of your users/buyers/authors input!;)
Maybe use one of the survey forms sold on FD when considering such changes and let the FD community give their input before making them!
Or at least give the FD community a proper “HEADS UP” prior to making changes that will effect a buyers shopping habits!;) If a change has the pontential to reduces sales even 1% they should never be considered “new and improved”.
I like “New” and “Improved” is what I hope to find when I come to FD everyday to look at the RECENT FILES AUTHORS HAVE POSTED!
FYI FD, I’ve purchased more files on impulse than necessity! Furthermore, if I came here with a shopping list my icon would still be dark blue!
