Battle of the Templates
Ding! Ding! Round One! It’s the battle you’ve all been waiting for, it’s the very first FlashDen Template Battle! In the red corner we have ParkerAndKent with their AS2 XML Mirror Portfolio Template, and in the blue corner we have OXYLUS with their Slick Full Website Template with CMS and 2 Skins.
Both templates are amazing and just by coincidence, they have been uploaded in the same week. So that almost makes it harder to choose! Both files are evenly priced, and the designs are equally hot to trot! Sales are neck and neck as we write and we can’t decide which is better! We want a clean and friendly fight, ladies and gentlemen. Check out the previews of both templates and make your vote count using the poll below, or just by purchasing your favorite template! And yes, you can cheat and buy both templates if you wish.

The back end of OXYLUS template alone is worth of $40
I have to say Oxylus’s template has an impressive backend and is very well made and structured, but following my visual taste I vote for P&K. Really love the new style, guys! Simple, yet very stylish!
Both really nice, I had to flip a coin
p&k cause i love their design and motion used.
p&k mainly because i think the design on oxlyus is too much, p&k is much more of a blank canvas
ParkerAndKent way ahead. I can easily recognize the inspiration from Group 94 work, though a touch of originality trough the entire template is easily felt. Nice and clean, well though of transitions, following the FI animation rules.
On the other hand, the guys at Oxylus seem to not know what Flash is, so the content is just thrown in there to fill the empty ideas/spaces.
I would go with P&K without any questions. I like their style!

It is indeed a bit like comparing apples to oranges, the two templates are very different, esthetically and function-wise. I do love P&K’s template for what it is and does just as I apreciate our template on it’s good points as well.
The style and usability are different, the ease of use is again different, what is offered in the package differs as well.
I’m not saying one is better than the other, just saying a head-to-head comparison is not exactly possible due to the fundamental differences between the two. I guess sales will eventually decide, and while they are currently in our favor and we released the template later, the difference is too slim to call
Andrei – I don’t mean to be rude but you clearly don’t have the esthetic culture to make such acid affirmations. Two words : Continuity and balance. I know why you’re attacking us and you shouldn’t do that just out of a personal grudge, especially since it should be the other way around.
Congratulations P&K for a great job and putting a lot of work into this great template !

We shouldn’t take this too seriously… I totally agree with you, the 2 templates have been thought for completely different purposes and so they cannot be compared at all… they will make their sales for what they are…
I don’t think this battle has been created to put one against other, but just to promote two good files that have been published almost in the same moment and that are selling both well… the battle thing is just something funny… the poll is just a way to give to this battle a sense… we are not judging which is better, we are asking people to tell what they like more, the result won’t affect me and won’t affect you…
So, congratulations to you for all those sales and for your smart product

It’s possible my comment was a bit too long, I tend to talk a lot and that’s probably why it might have come across as being a bit too serious. You do sometimes feel subconsciously compelled to defend your “new born baby”.

I am so inspired by their work, and the taste level. As a creative director, it’s hard for me to be pleased, P&K just know how to do that.

Wow, I never saw the back end to the slick full website template. That cms is amazing! The back end it self as someone said is worth 40$! Is it to late to change my vote? lol jk
HAHA! “The guys over at Oxylus don’t seem to know what Flash is.” LOL That’s awesome. But yeah right, man. Its like this. To keep to the subject you have to be exact and relevant. You’re comment was a complete put down. I’m not a great developer yet, but even I know what flash is. That’s a fact. C’mon man. You aint go to be so hurtful. Its not like their template attacked you and stole your milk money.
Oxylus, great template and I’m very glad you decided to add all the minor elements people don’t think about all in one template. It brought a few refreshing views to the design. Although some might see it as “not knowing flash” I believe you proved more than knowing it, by design elements, transitions and ability to tie in with the cms. I’m very happy with the results.
Parker, i cant stress how much I feel about your layouts and minimal design style! I fall in love every time a new template comes out. I can always feel sophistication and high end visual environment when I see your stuff. I feel like both of you had done a superior job and if I could, would vote on both.
Oxylus I agree both are two complete different styles, layouts… so on. But in the end you can count me to vote on BOTH.
